When Jesus said, "It is finished" what He was saying in modern language is that it is paid in full. God's righteousness is completely fullfilled for all mankind. No other sacrifice is needed. The opportunity for forgiveness of sins and right standing before God is now available to anyone who will trust in Him and obey the gospel.
